Actionvillage partners up with the Dew Tour
0 commentsHey everyone.
Just a quick update, Actionvillage is partnering up with the Dew Tour this year! The Dew Tour is coming to Chicago June 26-27th, during the Taste of Chicago. The Chicago event is BMX ONLY.
For those of you who don't know, the Dew Tour is made of 5 major events that take place over 5 months.
The first two stops will focus on single sports (BMX at Stop 1 and Skateboarding at Stop 2), with the last three stops featuring all sports: skateboarding (park and vert), BMX (park, vert and dirt) and freestyle motocross. The Tour awards champions in the six disciplines with the Dew Cup at season's end based on a cumulative points system. There is $2.5 million in prize money – the largest in action sports – and an additional $1 million bonus pool based upon year-end standings. The Dew Tour is broadcast on NBC, MTV and USA Network, as well as distributed worldwide, in over 100 different countries! At each Dew Tour event there is also a live concert featuring top artists and a huge Festival with video gaming, BMX and Skate interactive courses, giveaways with tons of new products to try out, and the list goes on and on. You also have the opportunity to get autographs and meet your favorite athletes!
More than 150 of the top action sports athletes in the world will return for the fifth season of the Dew Tour to compete for the highly coveted Dew Cup. Last year’s 2008 Dew Cup champions include Adam Jones (Freestyle Motocross), Jamie Bestwick (BMX Vert), Daniel Dhers (BMX Park), Cameron White (BMX Dirt), Pierre Luc Gagnon (Skateboard Vert) and Chaz Ortiz (Skateboard Park).
In each discipline (SKATE, BMX and FMX), athletes who qualify into each event (Vert, Park, Dirt or FMX) receive points based on the Final results from that event. At the conclusion of each event, riders are awarded points corresponding to their final placing - and will be ranked on the current Dew Tour Rankings.

Action Village.com rider Brain Kachinsky wants YOU to get a grip!

For over a month now I’ve been giving away new DK Tsuka grips to riders I meet all over the US and beyond. It’s been awesome meeting new riders and giving the gift of grip. I’ve been to a lot of places over the past month, but of course many areas of the country were left out. Modern technology has yet to give me the ability to be everywhere at once. We do have the next best thing: the internet. That’s why for the next three days (March 10-12th) I will be reading emails from any and all of you that want a free pair of new DK Tsuka grips courtesy of ActionVillage.com.
Here is all you have to do:
1) Take a picture of the grips you are currently riding. Make sure they are your grips. I don’t want to see the grips on your mom’s dust-covered 1960’s beach cruiser. BMX only.
2) Email the photo along with your mailing address to: dudegetagripman@hotmail.com. This automatically enters you into the contest. (If you include a good “one-liner” joke, that may help your chances.)
3) Check dkbicycles.com later this week to see if you are one of the lucky winners. If you are, some brand spankin’ new grips will be shipped to your doorstep from ActionVillage.com.
Action Village’s standard shipping only takes 1-3 short days, so you’ll have new grips in no time! Dude, just email me and I’ll help you get a grip, man.
Go Packers,
Brian Kachinsky

New Nixon headphones coming......
6 commentsand they are awesome. Believe it. We got a sample in today and I got to check them out for myself. You will love these, trust me. They sound great and you can actually adjust the volume by rotating the earpiece itself. It's pretty handy. We'll be getting a bunch of different kinds of them, in a variety of colors. They should be available to order on our website very soon, so keep a lookout. I'll also post here when they're up. Until then, here's a taste...

Brian Kachinsky to team up with ActionVillage.com
ActionVillage.com is proud to welcome Brian Kachinsky to the family. BK will be AVI’s first pro BMX rider.
”I think Brian is the perfect rider to launch our BMX sponsorship program with. His current major sponsors – DK and Etnies – are top tier brands for ActionVillage. He is based out of Chicago. And – maybe the most important factor – he is a great guy. It’s going to be really fun working with him.” - Rick Harold – Owner/Sr. Buyer ActionVillage, Inc.
“It’s cool to be a part of a company that’s well-known nationwide but practically in my backyard. ActionVillage is as excited about BMX as I am about handrails. I’m stoked to be part of the ActionVillage family.” - Brian Kachinsky
